I strongly feel that this issue can be fixed. Since you are experts with booting solutions/systems, would you be kind enough to take a look at those screenshots at and advice on how the problem can be fixed. In that post, I have uploaded screenshot of TestDisk's analysis but, I haven't received a reply. !!!URGENT!!! 3 years of huge data collection lost: USB dead after trying to make it bootable. I have detailed the problem at cgsecurity forums: Initially the directory structure in the usb looked something like this:ĪLL_data_dir (contains sub-dir's and data files within them) So it's not hard to imagine what sort of a mess i'm into. To go directly to one of the versions, select one of these links: Windows 7. On that website, you can select a version of Windows and create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD. Directory name and position in hierarchy identified file's data, therefore folder hierarchy and name is critical otherwise it's another huge problem to arrange it back in the order it was.Īnd worse is that all the above recovered data also contains Win 7 installation files (from ISO). To create installation media, go to the software download website, where youll find step-by-step instructions. Right-click on the USB flash drive and select the Format option (before proceeding with formatting, please copy all important data from your USB drive). The major problem with this is that the data was carefully manually organized under multiple folder's with many levels of hierarchy. Download, install and launch the latest version of the EasyBCD utility. Thankfully, I was able to recover most of the data using Photorec by however photorec renames recovered files based on recovery sector.
